ReCognizeMe? is designed with privacy in mind. Currently, we offer anonymous gameplay that does not require account creation.

Anonymous Play (Current)

  • Device Identifier: A randomly generated ID stored locally on your device to track your game progress and statistics
  • Game Data: Your scores, streaks, accuracy, and game history associated with your device
  • Basic Device Information: Browser type and general device information for app functionality

Optional Accounts (Future Feature)

In a future update, we plan to offer optional user accounts. If you choose to create an account, we will collect your email address and any display name you provide. Account creation will remain optional - you can continue playing anonymously if you prefer.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the game service
  • Track your progress, scores, and streaks
  • Display anonymous statistics on leaderboards
  • Improve the game experience and fix issues
  • Analyze aggregate usage patterns (no personal identification)

3. Data Storage and Security

Your game data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and security practices. We use Supabase for data storage, which provides enterprise-grade security. Your device identifier is stored locally on your device and is not linked to any personally identifiable information.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data:

  • On public leaderboards (anonymous device identifiers and scores only)
  • With service providers who help operate the app (Supabase, Vercel)
  • When required by law

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Clear your local game data by clearing your browser storage
  • Request deletion of your game data from our servers
  • Play the game without creating an account

To request data deletion, contact us at the email address below with your device identifier (found in your browser's local storage under "player_id").

6. Children's Privacy

ReCognizeMe? is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 years of age. Since the game does not require account creation, no personal information is collected from any users.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, particularly when we introduce optional user accounts. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
